Another weekend! These are the 2 days everyone is waiting after hectic weekdays, yes? During diploma, the stress was so much lower compared to degree. Its just the starting of the course, haha, I'm too used to slacking life of diploma, now i have to slap myself, Wake Up!
We're bored with Bintang & Boulevard. A new place we have yet to discover was, E-mart (supermarket + wetmarket). We have dilemma on transport in the morning, whether we should sit bus or taxi. Bus was quite troublesome as we have to board on Senadin 66 to Boulevard and switch to Senadin 62 to E-mart / Permy Mall. 2 Choices : Waste Time / Money. We chose Time and bus it is.
At Villa, 2012. "No matter how ugly the surrounding is, there's always a beauty inside it.".
Outside was the wetmarket, where there's so many things that i did not see before. This is where I'm able differentiate between pucuk paku and millin/billin. I saw something familiar, i've seen it in The Star newspaper few years back, the only durian you can get in East Malaysia. The red flesh durian!
At the wetmarket, there's so many things to buy, well mostly vegetables but there's a whole new experience to see vegetables or things you have never get to see back in West.
There were indoors stalls between E-mart and the supermarket. We received news from wy saying that there'll be a shortage of water for 4 days in Miri. Not even a month at Miri, we encounter this problem! The news was confirmed as everyone at the mart was talking about it.
Worst of all, we wanted to grab mineral waters but when we reach that section, its complete empty. The ones that are left in the shelf are the expensive ones (Evian and another). I even saw people putting Evian into their basket, which is one crazy expensive thing to do! Everyone started panic buying any beverage to substitute mineral water.
Well, i'm one of them as well (panic buying other things), just that i did not need to buy any drinks, thanks to my mom asking me to buy 2 bottles of 5 litre mineral water. So what i bought? Deodorant and sanitizer, the 2 things I never buy in my 23 years of living in Planet Earth and i just did broke the record. Imagine 4 days without water, can't really bath? I smell like an ass.
When we reach home, we could see some of the houses are packed with busy people, trying to get water from the tank behind our house. Those were the girls busy doing it, they even said, some tanks are already empty. So i went back to the male side of Villa (Villa = Girls 1 row of houses, Guys another row separated by 1 road), i opened the tanks behind my house and my neighbour's, its all full tank. I think non of the guys are aware of this water shortage news as they are busy playing games?
Ly's cute little Raffy! <3 A very emotional giraffe.
According to the seller, in order to know whether it is ready to eat, you have to see whether the shell is opened or not (like above). Hard to handle this durian as the spike was real sharp compared to other durians i ate.
Everyone are curious about this fruit.Wait till we eat it and............x_X
For those who doesn't like durian, this fruit does not have any durian smell. Please don't say that it looks like durian and it smells like durian too. If you have ask me how does it taste like? My friends and I ate the whole piece of it...... forcefully. Though i'm a durian fan, this is not my thing. For experience, try it. You don't get this anywhere is West Malaysia.
Anyway, the water source came back after midnight. Darn it, after all our effort on buying water and stuff. 2 of my friends even went all the way to one of their friend's house (further than airport) to get water as that area is not very much affected. They have to gather pails from us, Villians and fill up the water, bring back to Villa. Thanks ly, kw, ah how and ah ngik.
How come there's a sudden notice about the water shortage? A petrol lorry fall into the river and there's oil spill.
